In the year 2045, a virtual reality system called the Oasis is an immersive world. Allows people to escape their harsh reality and be or do anything they want - the only limits are your own imagination.

The Oasis is where pretty much everybody spends all of their free time. Living a virtual existence where they can do anything and be anyone they want.

The Oasis creator James Halliday decides to leave a message for all its users before he dies. He creates an Easter egg within the game and anyone who finds it will inherit his immense fortune and gain complete control of the Oasis itself. Naturally, everyone sets out to complete the challenge, but unlikely hero Wade Watts finds himself at the forefront of the hunt. A gloriously geeky ode to the last 40 years of pop culture wrapped up in a thrilling adventure tale, “Ready Player One” is amazing.

Wade Watts, whose avatar is Parzival, named for the mythical seeker of the Holy Grail. Wade lives in a slummy Columbus, Ohio, trailer park, with the trailers stacked vertically atop one another. He retreats at every opportunity into the OASIS, where he is thronged with friends he knows only through their avatars. His best buddy is Arch.

It feels like a new classic, one worthy of mention on its own accord. There are sequences of sci-fi action violence, bloody images, some suggestive material, partial nudity, and language.
