So, Today I am going to talk about a fantastic Tv Show called: Game of Thrones!
Game of Thrones is the kind show that makes any Company proud - in this case, we talk about HBO, responsible for the worldwide hit series.
This show is the most-winning Emmy Awards drama series. At the awards ceremony, Creative Arts Emmy, the show won in nine categories - including best casting, best costume, and best hair - completing the record number of 35 trophies. Game of Thrones has nominations in 23 categories, including Best Drama Series, Best Direction, and Best Supporting Drama Actor (Kit Harington). Of the 110 submissions, the series has had for Academy of Television Arts and Sciences trophies. It has won twice in the drama series category in 2015 and 2014; twice as best supporting actor in a drama (Peter Dinklage, 2015 and 2011); and better direction (David Nutter, 2015). Btw, I played the game of thrones game on facebook, but I didn`t like! Game of Thrones episodes is all high level! I mean, Movie levels! It`s Amazing!
Despite being a medieval series, Game of Thrones has always had a foot in the supernatural. Throughout the seasons but has been there from the beginning, as the pilot episode begins with a Night Patrol member meeting the White Walkers. The scene serves as a prologue to the story and is much more terror-oriented than adventure-style.
What really kicks off the whole story of the series is the death of Jon Arryn, who was King Robert's Hand and husband of Lysa Arryn. Early on, Cersei and Jamie talk about death and how close Arryn was to discovering their great secret. That the sons of Cersei, King Robert's queen, and wife, were also his twin's. It is Jon's death that causes the king to leave Port Royal and go to Winterfell to offer the post to his friend Eddard. But the intrigues caused by the brothers do not end there. At the pilot's end, Jamie (possibly) makes one of his biggest mistakes during all seasons. Which is pushing Bran from the tower when the boy catches his brothers together. He also attacks Ned in Porto Real, leaving the Starks patriarch injured and vulnerable.
Despite the cooperation with his brother, the season establishes how unhappy Cersei is, especially in her marriage. Robert does not hide from anyone who has been in love with Lyanna Stark. And still has an excellent feeling for her, even though the character has been long dead. This relationship makes Cersei feel rejected all the time. At one point, for example, she claims that the king already called after Lyanna when they were in bed, something that deeply hurt his pride. Also, Robert beat Cersei when he felt challenged and saw no problem in keeping lovers, even in front of everyone, as happens at the welcome party in Winterfell. In books, it has always been established how Robert and Cersei's marriage was arranged to unite their homes. Tywin Lannister wanted his daughter married to the king. The girl imagined she would have a happy relationship, before discovering that her husband would never love her and really see their link as a lie.
Season one also marks the rare moments of Stark family happiness throughout history. Eddark and Catelyn have a solid, respectful love, and that reflects on proper Winterfell management, always preparing for the coming winter. Among the young, Rob is the oldest and makes to one day take over his father's place; Sansa is a sweet girl who dreams of marrying a handsome prince. Arya is an active child who does everything to provoke the brothers. Bran begins to hear more from his father's teachings (“He who gives the sentence must wield the sword”). The only thing that clashes with all this harmony are Jon Snow. Who has a good relationship with his brothers (especially Arya), but can't shake the feeling of inadequacy, especially when Catelyn is around. For her, the boy is a constant reminder of her husband's betrayal.
It is also in the first season that the Stark brothers earn their wolves. While returning from the execution of a Night Patrol deserter (the same as the White Walker saw). Eddark's entourage encounters a giant dead wolf, a species rarely seen recently in the region. The very death of the animal itself is already a bad omen, but soon they discover that the wolf has left behind a litter of wolves in the exact amount of siblings. Although he disagrees with the principle, Eddard knows that wolves are the symbol of his home and so allows every child and youngster to keep a cub. Throughout the seasons, wolves accompany the characters, help them through difficult times, and their deaths also portend difficult times for the family.
An interesting point is how the first season used the soundtrack differently. When the story begins to be established and the saddest moments in the series have not yet happened, the track is much more lively, dynamic and generic. An example is when Robert's entourage arrives at Winterfell. The music that plays right now is grand and almost happy, and rarely used after that. Throughout the season, the songs get darker and gain more personality.
HBO has always been known for having more adult content in its series. Regarding both violence and nudity, and this second point is well explored in the early seasons of Game of Thrones. In the first episode, for example, several female characters appear naked next to Tyrion in a brothel and Daenerys has an awkward scene next to her brother Viserys. Over time, the nude scenes diminished or at least took on a less gratuitous tone than in season one.
For those who don't remember, Robert Baratheon still dies in the first season of Game of Thrones after being attacked by "boar" during a hunt. But before this tragic event, the series explores a lot of the character's friendship with Ned. The two met in their youth, and Robert fell in love with Ned's sister Lyanna, creating an even greater bond between them. When the young woman was allegedly kidnapped by Rhaegar Targaryen, and Ned's father and brother were killed by the Mad King. The two friends joined in Robert's Rebellion, which ended when Jaime Lannister became the kingside by murdering the king he swore to protect. Having lived through all this, Ned and Robert have a unique relationship in the early episodes of the series, as the king sees in Ned someone who can help him rule Westeros. In the eyes of outsiders, it is strange to see casual conversations between the two, but history justifies this.
When Game of Thrones begins, Jon Snow is a young man angry about his Winterfell status. As stated earlier, he has a good relationship with the Stark brothers, but can't shake the feeling that he doesn't belong there. That's why, after reviewing Uncle Benjen, he decides to join the Night's Watch. Previously, this order was formed by honorable knights who protected Westeros from dangers beyond the Wall. But now the men sent are murderers and rapists, and the conditions of the place are precarious. Jon suffers a lot in his early days, mainly because he still does not feel accepted. Despite being a bastard, the young man had a good upbringing and training, something that also sets him apart from his brothers. It is only with time that he can make friends on the Wall, especially with Sam, that lasts until the current seasons.
When the entourage prepares to go to the Wall, Tyrion Lannister decides to go along, he said, "to pee beyond the Wall." This trip is essential in establishing Tyrion's personality and also creates a satisfying relationship between the character with Jon Snow. Tyrion says all dwarves are bastards in their parents' eyes and shows how he sees the world after years of rejection. Also on the trip, Tyrion says his famous phrase “a mind needs books like a sword needs a whetstone. That's why I read so much. ”
Other key moments in the first season of Game of Thrones are the decisions made by Catelyn. Early in the story, she receives a letter from Sister Lysa accusing the Lannisters of Jon Arryn's death. Already suspicious of her family's presence in Winterfell, she warns Ned of the dangers of accepting the position of Hand of the King. After Bran's fall from the tower, Catelyn's suspicions increase when he is again attacked in his bed. A man breaks into the room and tries to stab the boy with a dagger that supposedly belonged to Tyrion. The matriarch hurts her hands, trying to save her son, who only emerges unscathed from this new violence when defended by the wolf Summer. In a final decision, she decides to leave Winterfell and go to Porto Real to give the news to Ned personally, since she does not trust crows. This is a tough decision since Bran has not woken up and Rickon is just a baby, but she remains firm in the idea of doing justice and protecting her family.
Catelyn has one last meeting with Ned and, upon returning home, finds Tyrion on his way back from the Wall. He summons the lords present and takes the youngest of the Lannisters hostage. Tyrion proves his innocence by a combat trial. But his temporary arrest causes Ned to be attacked in Port Royal by Jaime, who demands to have his brother back. Later, when Ned is arrested and charged with treason, Robb summons northern armies to march in defense of his father and Catelyn joins her eldest son. This last decision not to return to Winterfell and the younger children was crucial to the Starks' future. Catelyn never saw Bran and Rickon again, and after Ned's death, the place was vulnerable without the presence of a lord or lady, which led to raids and the boys' escape.
From the moment he arrives in Porto Real with his daughters, Ned faces many problems and does not always make the best decisions. He begins to investigate the death of Jon Arryn and comes to the same secret that the dead man discovered. The blond hair of Cersei's sons shows that they are not Robert's sons and therefore are not heirs to the throne. He makes the mistake of trusting Littlefinger to have the city guard by his side and is betrayed. Arrested and accused of plotting against the crown, Ned fears for the safety of Sansa and Arya. Who are alone in the city (although Arya has Syrio Forel by his side), and therefore accepts Cersei's proposal to apologize and serve on the Patrol. Of the night. The Regent Queen knows that the death of the Lord of Winterfell could trigger an unwanted war and so required only her submission. But she did not expect that son Joffrey, starving for power and cruelty, would order Ned's death by beheading, which happens in the ninth episode of season one.
While all this is happening in Westeros, the story of Viserys and Dany unfolds beyond the Narrow Sea. The young woman marries Khal Drogo, in the promise that he will give Viserys an army to win back Westeros to the Targaryen family. The beginning of the relationship is tough for her, which is strange to the gross customs of the Dothraki. But little by little, she learns to love Drogo and gets pregnant, carrying the baby who will become "the stallion who will ride the world." Feeling stronger and stronger, Dany takes the lead in her story, and Viserys begins to harbor dangerous jealousy of his position of power. Since childhood, the older brother has totally dominated Dany's life. Claiming that she could "wake the Dragon" and to avoid that he should obey all his orders. In the books, the character remembers how they had a difficult childhood and Viserys really helped her, but in return wanted her complete submission.
Viserys becomes impatient with Drogo's delay in planning the Westeros invasion and makes an ultimatum to the couple, threatening Daenerys when she is already pregnant. Inpatient to deal with the boy's demands and furious about threats to his family, Khal Drogo kills Viserys by pouring a boiling gold bowl into his head. Unfortunately, the future that Daenerys loses when Drogo falls ill after a battle wound, and in her eagerness to save him. She is fooled by Mirri Maz Duur and sacrifices her baby, also becoming sterile in the process. Hopelessly, Dany enters a bonfire with her sleeping dragon eggs and leaves her unharmed, with the three magical beings at her side, becoming the Mother of Dragons.
