Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Quick Review
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - is the official script book for the play of the same name written by J. K. Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne.
Hello, my friends! Thanks for coming! Today I am going to talk about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts One and Two: The Official Playscript of the Original West End Production |
It takes place 19 years later, it seems to pick up right where the originals left off. Dumbledore returns as a moving painting, there are time-turners and polyjuice potion and sneaking around in invisibility cloaks and raids on the Ministry of Magic.
But more than any of that, the Harry Potter universe is known for its characters, and a couple more can now be mentioned! Harry's son, Albus, is everything Harry isn't and the two struggle to relate until Albus becomes so isolated he starts falling down the same path that Voldemort did. And then there's Draco's son leading Albus down the wrong road and helping Albus make huge mistakes. It exceeded expectations. Actually, it was outstanding. Just jaw-droppingly mind-blowing on every scale. Fantastic, scary, and funny! Even though this is about the kids, they wrote the book in a way that we get to have some memories of certain things.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: The Journey: Behind the Scenes of the Award-Winning Stage Production |
I was understandably hesitant about a sequel, but I'm relieved after having read it. It was everything I could have hoped for and not at all what I was expecting, but I liked. I was lucky to be able to go into the story completely spoiler-free, and it definitely enhanced the twists! The plot might be convoluted and crazy, but the world is magical enough for it to somehow work. It makes for all the thrills and mystery you come to expect from the Harry Potter universe. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a delightful combination of witty dialogue and pacy storytelling. The climax of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is very touching.
Anyway, I liked the story. I wanted the friendship between Albus and Scorpius. I hope you all liked it as much as I did!
