L.A. Noire - Quick Review!

L.A. Noire - is a neo-noir detective action-adventure video game developed by Team Bondi and published by Rockstar Games.
Hello, my friends! Thanks for coming! Today I am going to talk about L.A. Noire! Spoiler Alert!
L.A. Noire - Nintendo Switch |
The main character is Cole Phelps, a Los Angeles police officer (LAPD), brilliantly portrayed by Aaron Staton. Phelps begins to excel in his work as a police officer and quickly promoted to a detective.
The story is in the '40s, more precisely 1947, post-war. Los Angeles lived a time of fame and glory, but at the same time of crimes and corruptions. There was strong contraband of drugs and weapons in the area. Also, because the soldiers returned home filled with post-war traumas, violent instincts, and an evil character in the soul, willing to pull the trigger whenever they feel threatened. Elysian Fields Development, the largest and most successful construction company in Los Angeles, had recently secured the approval of funds for the construction of several houses around the city. However, some residents were reluctant to leave, which forced them to take more drastic measures.
Kelso is an investigator for the California Fire and Life Insurance Company.
He was informed to investigate the constructions of Elysian Fields Development. So, he discovered an enormous scheme of construction fraud. Elysian Fields uses rotten wood and the worst quality cement in its construction. All this to raise a lot of money from contractors, through bidding fraud and tax evasion. The scheme is so robust that it directly involves the city's mayor, the police chief, and several other influential personalities.

Kelso discovers that the whole scheme had been set up by Harland Fontaine.
Fontaine is a psychiatrist and owns a clinic in Los Angeles, where he specialized in treating the most important and influential people in the city. Considered one of the best psychiatrists in the country, he was a millionaire as well. But, what everyone does not know is that he made his fortune illegally, marketing morphine among his patients. Fontaine treated his patients with morphine, leaving them addicted, so they always came to him for more drugs, which were ever sold illegally without a prescription. However, when Kelso tries to go after Fontaine, he arrives too late. Fontaine was already dead. He was strangled by a guy called Ira Hogeboom.

Hogeboom was in the army, and when he goes back to America, he went mad and decided to kill Fontaine and kidnap Elsa.
Elsa was one of the Fontaine`s patients and Phelps love interest. Phelps and Kelso track Hogeboom to the entrance of the Sewer, and that's where they face each other. Kelso manages to rescue Elsa and kill Hogeboom. However, Phelps ends up drowning before he had time to escape the tunnels after an explosion that filled the entire Sewer with water. What every player must know before beginning their journey in L.A. Noire. The title is very similar to the adventures of Niko Bellic in GTA. After a few hours of gameplay, it is easier to compare L.A. Noire with Mafia 2 (2K) than with experiences that consist of performing illegal missions and, as its name suggests: stealing cars.
L.A. Noire has come to show that it is not just GTA that Rockstar lives, even though many elements between the two games are very similar. The title develops an engaging storyline that leads the player to not let go of the control until completing the investigation.
