Hello, my friends! Thanks for coming! Today I am going to talk about War for the Planet of the Apes.

Beautiful and unique performances given by the main cast. Caesar, Maurice, Luka, Rocket, Winter, Bad Ape, etc... All memorable, all unique, all beautifully realized and expressed with minimal dialogue. The facial expressions in this indeed carried the entire thing. Even Woody Harrelson did a great job.
Last but not least is the little girl in this movie. She was adorable, and her chemistry with the rest of the apes was perfect. Really well done.
There is a twist to the narrative where humans have been getting a disease which causes them to devolve to the point where speech is no longer possible. Primates are feared for their combination of wiliness and strength. The way they are treated brings up an interesting question. There have been numerous occasions where someone was treated poorly because we do not understand their intentions, and we fear them. This came across at least to me as the primary consideration of how we treat people who are different than ourselves. Through the primates, we are reminded of the essential values of family, respect, and loyalty.

This movie moves at a slower pace than you would expect. Much quieter than most action movies and more contemplative on the state of society. There is not as much action as you would expect from the title of the film. Humans have been decimated by a virus, and apes have grown more intelligent and vocal. But when the villain's plan of attack touches our hero's own family, revenge becomes the big motivator. There are great action pieces when there is action. The bombing of the compound is hellish and feels that way. Primates on horses are one of the coolest things you will witness in a movie. This movie is long, and it sort of feels unwarranted. There are a lot of things that could've been trimmed down or done more succinctly.
Overall, the film was very Good!!! Andy Serkis brings to life once again a very compelling character and makes us care about each decision. The scenes between Woody and Andy are expertly done and very touching in different ways. It was a perfect ending to a brilliant trilogy. The acting was excellent from the motion capture apes to the humans, and the CGI to go along with it, was awesome!
The plot is awesome. It's entertaining and emotional.
